1 Stayed on

First thing first it’s not a full fledged hotel. It’s a small home stay with 5 rooms run by Mr. Joe and his family. The rooms are neat and the the entire home stay is well decorated. This is where the positives end. First it’s no where near close to Munnar. It’s 19kms from the city centre. This is a very big negative as many will find transportation a huge barrier and also very expensive. Even though we had our car it takes almost 1hr to reach the town cause of the hilly roads. Second the food is very limited and while the pictures show wood fired pizza oven it won’t be available all the days. Also the food takes 1hr to be prepared and the taste is so so as it’s prepared by the gentlemen’s family who again not professional chefs. Again as the town is far off we are very limited in choices as we need to travel for 1hr for a decent nearby restaurant. Third the beds are very small and not comfortable and the sofa bed they had is fixed far off so if u come as a family u all can’t sleep together leaving kids exposed on one side of the bed as two adults and a kid can’t sleep in the same bed. Fourth the room service person doesn’t know a single word of English, Malayalam or tamil only Hindi. When we asked him to clean our rooms and gave them the key and after a long day we come back to the room in a messy state with no cleaning done claiming I told the guy not to clean. Come on he doesn’t know a word. Even the dust bins towels and daily supplies are not done is that also an excuse for so called not cleaning? Fifth the real bummer is of provident RO water for drinking after paying *k per day? Are u kidding. They don’t even provide two complimentary bottled water? The buffet breakfast again very limited with a cut fruits served only once and a single Keralite breakfast. When we asked for cheese omlets the guy was reluctant but did provide on the first day. The next day when we asked him they gave plain omelet without cheese what cheep behaviour. Basically for *k a day u have awesome places to stay in Munnar and did I mention the place is hotter than Munnar because it’s 19km below Munnar. Also extension work which is happening in the premises will start making noises from 7.30 so pls be prepared to be woken up early. All in It’s a disaster and pls stay away.
